Are you looking for your next performance dog, running buddy, or Frisbee player?  Then Cade is the boy for you!  This happy one year old boy was left to be euthanized when his family was moving, but luckily a lot of great people intervened and helped Cade get to rescue.  Cade is a typical border collie who needs lots of exercise and mental stimulation.  He will be looking for an owner who wants to spend a lot of time training and playing but will truly be a wonderful companion and teammate for the right person.  He is a sweet and cuddly (but wiggly) boy!

Cade loves to play ball, enjoys tugging, playing with toys, and is also food motivated.  Cade knows some basic obedience commands including sit, down, shake, can do some short stays and comes when called.  He has also been working on some agility.  He does jumps, tunnels, the tire, table, will run over a low a-frame and has started doing short sequences of 2-4 obstacles.  He loves to work and is eager to please.  We think Cade could have potential as an agility, Frisbee or obedience dog.  He has amazing vertical jumping ability!

Cade was very shy when he came to us and may still initially be nervous at new places but when taken to a few agility trials it took only a few minutes to settle in and be able to play, perform tricks and enjoy meeting new people.  Cade has a strong personality and will need an owner who can provide leadership to him by setting consistent rules around the house and enforce them in a calm and kind but firm manner.  With proper  guidance, he will flourish in his new home and continue to learn new things and gain confidence.

Cade is crate trained, housebroken, rides well in the car, tolerates bathing and brushing and is good in the house.  He currently lives with 3 other border collies (2 male and 1 female), a Pomeranian, and a cat.  He gets along well with all of them and likes men, women, and children.  He is a very lean 40 lbs and approximately 20 inches tall.  Because he chases cars a home with a fenced yard will be given preference.

Raven

raven

They say that "still waters run deep" and this is exactly what many people think of when they meet Raven. A sleek, smooth-coat beauty, Raven is quiet and gentle. But it is clear that a great deal is going on in her mind as she watches. Raven was not introduced to different situations as a puppy, so everything is brand new to her, and you can watch her thinking about it. And while she is sometimes shy and careful, she is always gentle and respectful. She gets along well with other dogs, even looking to them for support as she explores new things.

Raven does take time to feel comfortable in new situations, so she will need a family that is willing to help her explore and continue to gain confidence. It is important that a potential family understands that Raven will be shy and withdrawn when they first meet her, and will probably be for the first few weeks until she gets to know them. However, after she begins to trust, she becomes affectionate and playful.

Currently, Raven is housebroken, walks nicely on a leash, and will stick close by her people. She is crate trained and travels well, even to hotels! Raven plays well with other dogs and would really appreciate having a brother or sister her size to learn from. She loves to run and play outside and even enjoys a swim. We believe that Raven is about two years old. She will need a fence to keep her safe.

Pepper

pepper

Pepper is a 3 year old beauty that wants nothing more than to please her people. She was an owner relinquish due to her owner having to move. She has a quiet personality and yet is accepting and playful with her foster BC and German Shepherds. She is accepting of other dogs but not "submissive". Pepper is accepting of human hands moving the food dish,  however she does chow down her food and needs her space from canine noses. She is excellant around cats. Cats are no different than another piece of furniture. Her foster cats have no problem walking around or even standing right in front of her.

She attended obedience class and sits, lays down and walks well on the leash. Pepper listens well to a whistle, She would be a nice addition in almost any household, but maybe better with older children. Her quiet demenor is better suited to a famiy that will spend time giving her attention and a lot of love, as opposed to a rock and roll house.

Pepper will tolerate the gentle stroking with the back side of a brush, but needs work with actual brushing. Pepper is a wonderful companion dog. She is a lovely combination of gentle, loving and flexible play needs.

Reaghan

reaghan

Reaghan is 25 lbs of adorable and cute!  This little border collie mix girl was found running as a stray in rural Southwest MO and went unclaimed from the local shelter.  We estimate her at 12-18 months old.

Reaghan has only been in foster care for about a week but we have learned a lot about her.  She is crate trained and thus far appears to be house-broken.  She gets along with other dogs and cats.  She might chase a cat if it will run but she will not hurt it.  She is very laid back around the house but will occasionally do naughty things like sit on the end table!

She has not shown much interest in toys yet, she looks at them and sniffs them but hasn't actually played with them yet.  She is starting to become more interactive with the other dogs, but would be equally happy as an only dog.
She is an excellent snuggler and loves to cuddle up on the bed or couch with you.  She would probably make a great therapy dog.

She is food and treat motivated and would probably enjoy obedience or rally.  Given her ability to climb and/or jump on, over, or through things she could probably also be trained for agility but is not a high drive dog.

Reaghan was pretty worried about her first bath but since then has done much better if you take it slow.  She didn't mind being brushed.  She rode well in the car in a crate but has not been tried loose yet.

We will update more about Reaghan as we find out more about her but I think her new family will be very lucky to have her!  So far everyone who has met her has loved her!

Panda

panda

Panda is a beautiful and energetic 12 month old female border collie mix. She came to us as an owner relinquish from an owner who did not have time to meet her exercise needs. She is approx. 45-50 pounds. She has a beautiful coat and enjoys being brushed. She loves to play with other dogs and is respectful of older dogs space. Playing ball and Frisbee are some of her favorite activities.

She is learning her house manners quickly, she is house broken and crate trained. Because of her high prey drive, she needs a home without cats. She will need an active home with a family that desires to take her to training classes and will give her plenty of exercise. Due to her energy level a home with older children would be best.

Panda would do great in a home with another dog to play with. She also needs a fenced yard to keep her safe.

If your looking for an agility prospect, jogging partner or obedience dog Panda could be your girl.

Panda is being fostered in Wichita, KS

Kali

kali

It's hard to say if her adorable face or charming personality will make you fall in love first!  Kali was found as a stray and is about 10 months old and did not appear to have gotten a very good start in life.

Kali has made so much progress in a short time.  She has almost completely gotten over her resource guarding with the other dogs and has actually settled in to our pack well.  She still never misses an opportunity for affection but she no longer tries to keep the other dogs from getting their share as well and will sit and wait for treats with the other dogs nearby.

She loves all humans regarless of age, sex or size and would make a wonderful pet therapy dog.  She is gentle and good to not jump up when meeting someone new.  I have taken her on some outings to parks and a fall festival and even took her for a couple of short runs.  She does very well, just needs a little work on learning not to pull on the leash but otherwise her manners and perfect and I think she would enjoy being a walking/running partner!

Kali is fully house and crate trained and loads up eagerly into her crate in the car.  She know sit, down, shake and is being introduced to the stay command.  She is one of those border collies that has the very nice blend of being athletic and playful but also a snuggler.

She would do great in a very active home but will not require constant activity and is content just "hanging out".  She loves playing with one of her foster sisters and does not pay any attention to the bird here.  She has been introduced to cats and did not pay much attention to them either.  So far she still does not have much interest in toys but will pick them up to play with or chew on from time to time now.

Kali will need a fenced yard to keep her safe. She is being fostered in Springfield, MO.
