Missy is an 11 month old female-mostly or all Border Collie. Missy was surrendered by her family who adopted her as a free puppy to get her out of a bad place, but they weren't really ready to be a three dog family and a border collie was not a good fit for them. But this is a great bonus for you because Missy is a ready made dog! She is already crate trained, housebroken, used to being inside, living with dogs, cats, men, women, and children! Missy is a sweet girl who loves belly rubs and being with her people. She likes to play fetch and tug. She also likes cooling off in the baby pool. She enjoys playing with the other puppy in her foster home but does not bother the older dogs. It did take her a few days to make friends with the other puppy but now they play all the time. She would enjoy a home with a dog to play with but would not mind being an only dog and getting all the attention. Missy rides well in the car and is used to bathing. She was also good for her nail trim. Missy kennels on command, has some understanding of sit and down and is pretty good about coming when called. She will still pull on the leash at times. Like most border collies if she is outside with nothing to do she will entertain herself by finding things to chase and bark at. If allowed to go on unchecked this could develop into obsessive behavior. She has been working on not barking excessively in her foster home and is getting much better about stopping when told no and finding better things to do or else just coming inside. She wants to please but will need someone who won't let her get away with things. Missy a long, tall girl who weighs about 40 lbs but could stand to be a few pounds lighter. Missy has not been in foster care long and we will update her bio as we learn more. Missy will need a fenced yard. Missy is being fostered in Springfield, MO. You will need to be able to go to the foster home for a meet and greet.
