Meet Nan!  Nan is gorgeous one-year-old female red/white border collie full of fun, energy and enthusiasm for life!  This little charmer loves her people and is not afraid to show it.  Nan had a rough start to life and came to MoKan in August of 2018 as an owner surrender for escaping their yard and potty training issues.  Initially scared of everything and very timid, she quickly warmed up to her foster mom and is the sweetest little cuddle-bug.  She was diagnosed with and treated for spay incontinence.  She has not had an accident at home in weeks, and now stands patiently by the door when asking to go outside to do her business.  She rides in the car well and kennels on command.

She has graduated from basic obedience class and would love to show you how smart she is--sit, stay, down, kennel up, come, touch, find it, shake—she knows them all!  She loves to play with other dogs and has been named the unofficial “mayor” of the local dog park.  New dogs arriving?  Nan is there to greet them!  Dogs playing too rough?  Nan sticks up for the little guys!  Retriever needs a buddy?  Nan escorts them out to get the ball!

She has not shown much interest in cats but may do better in a cat-free home due to her herding tendencies. Nan is still learning to walk appropriately on a leash and may take some time to adjust to new situations.  She has not shown any desire to escape her yard at her foster home but will need a secure fence to keep her safe as well as daily physical and mental exercise.

Nan would love to be adopted into a home with a dog sibling playmate.  If you think you have the right home for Nan and are in the mood for some high-IQ love, fill out an adoption application today!

Nan will need an above ground fence to keep her safe.

Nan is currently being fostered in Wichita, Ks.
