Aren't I just beautiful?? It is not often you see a Border Collie with brindling like I have in my fur, but my foster Mom says it is golden angel sprinkles as someone was sure looking out for me! They tell me I was abandoned on a cold wintry night in the river bottoms near Columbia, MO. Someone finally saw me and tried to catch me, but I was too scared. Finally after three days, I was so cold and hungry, I let her catch me. I was scared at first, but after I realized she just wanted to find me someplace warm to stay and love me, it felt wonderful! I am only 3 months old...way too little to be out on my own. I didn't know what to eat or what to do, so I became extremely thin. My new foster mom said she didn't think I would not have lasted much longer in the chilling temperatures. I got it made now, warm loving home, plenty of food to eat, foster siblings and tons of toys to play with! I am a tough little thing and like to growl at my toys (mom says I am a "talker")! I am a go, go, go girl; but there is nothing I like better than a cuddle with you on the couch! My mom says that is my "off" button. I would like to have a job...and I will satisfy the jobs of kitchen clean up if needed, toy inspector for you, and I am good at cookie disposal as well! If it involves toys and food, I am your girl!! I get real excited whenever my favorite people are around and love the big dogs too. Don't think I am just a pretty face!! I am learning some of the basic commands, so consider myself an educated girl! I only weigh 13 lbs. (but I am getting a more girlish figure now!), so may stay on the smaller side to better fit into your lap!! I don't mind saying it, but I am simply adorable and love, love, love to snuggle! I would love to stay with my mom, but she said I have to go somewhere special where the focus will be on me. My mom has a list of what kind of home I will need. I peeked at it and it said that my new family would need to provide LOTS of cuddles, preferably a visible fence, herding dog breed experience, and will take me to obedience training. I would LOVE to go to obedience class so I can be even smarter!! The trainers will help me and my new family be able to communicate with each other. She says I would make a good performance/sporting dog...I like to spring off things and have a lot of energy! We are working on potty training and it is going very well. It will be a piece of cake for my new family if they take me out often. I am still little and have to go A LOT!!! I sleep in a crate at night and am as quiet as a mouse. I am up-to-date on all vaccines, microchipped, on tick/flea preventative and will be adopted with a spay contract (you can ask my foster mom to explain about that!) Hartley is being fostered in Rolla, MO. |
