Hi friends, I’m Oreo. I like to say my name describes me well, not just because of my colors, but because I’m as sweet on the inside as I am on the out. I’m about 3-4 years old and 20#. My foster mom says I’m a tiny bundle of sweetness and energy. I think my parents were border collie and maybe mini-aussie. My coat is the perfect mix of those breeds, full, beautiful and soft. My bath made me look even more beautiful (yes, I had a bath and liked it!). Even though I had a rough start to my life, I’m still the happiest dog on the planet. You can tell because I can’t stop wagging my tail, especially when I see you. And I love giving kisses to my humans. You want to rub my belly? No problem, I’ll plop right down and roll over to make it easy for you. Want to cuddle? I’m your girl. Can’t decide if you want to go for a walk or settle in for a movie on the couch? Hey, I’m up for both! I love my walks so much. I know where foster mom keeps my leash and get so excited when it’s time to go! And I’m a polite walker. Foster mom taught me to stop, sit, and look both ways before crossing the street (plus she gives me treats for that). Sometimes we go hiking on the trails and I love that, too. You see, I pretty much adapt to any situation and am always up for new adventures. I’ve met other dogs on my adventures and I’ve loved every dog I’ve met. At first, my foster sisters weren’t so sure about me and met me with grumpy greetings. It took about a day for me to win them over and show them I’m fun to play with. Now we run and play chase in the back yard. There aren’t any cats in my foster home but I lived with some before. I’m really good in the house, too. I keep tabs on foster mom and follow her around, but I’m not really a “velcro dog”. I like to be where the action is but am learning that being in the kitchen during dinner is against the rules. No worries, I just lay down and watch the activities. I’m a good supervisor. Foster mom has something called grandkids who I get to visit. I adore them. They are so fun to kiss because it makes them giggle, and they give me gentle hugs. Foster mom says I’m calm and gentle, and would be an excellent family dog. Really I’m just an excellent dog in general, if I do say so myself! I have good house manners, too. I’m good in my crate when mom and dad are gone, and lay quietly. I totally understand that pottying is to be done outside. Foster mom gives me yummy treats when she teaches me. I know that people prefer not to be jumped on, so I sit nicely and stare into your eyes until you cave and give me a yummy. We’re working on “down” and “stay”, but I’ll learn that lickety-split, so you better come up with more things to teach me. I’m a blank slate, ready to learn! So far I haven’t shown much interest in balls, a frisbee or toys, but I never had any before so I’m not sure what they’re for! I’ll probably learn that, too. I’m so excited to find and meet my new forever family. I don’t ever want to move again, so please, be ready to give me all your love forever and ever. I know my family is out there… could it be you? I’ll be waiting… Love and wags, Oreo
