Mr. Mushnick (Mooshy) is a kind soul. Quiet and calm; he would be great for someone who would like an easy going dog. He is lower energy and a little timid but he does love a game of fetch. He would prefer a home where he is the only dog or there is another quiet dog that won’t be in his business. He also would do well with older children who are respectful. He is untested on cats but is not afraid to chase a squirrel in the yard. Mr. Mushnick is very food motivated and trainable, but probably doesn’t need anything beyond basic training. He knows Sit, Down, and is working on recall. Stationing on a mat during dinner time would probably be a good behavior to train because he does think everything we eat looks like a delicacy, I'm sure this comes from being a stray. I do not crate him because he can be left alone in the house without incident. He rides well in the car and walks well on a leash. He does not react to people or dogs walking by. He does not bark at other dogs or people in the yard, actually I don’t think we’ve heard him bark once. He is 5 years old, house trained, up-to-date on vaccinations, and altered. Mr. Mushnick is recovering from an ear hematoma/injury. While his ears would normally prick up, one does flop over because of the scar tissue from the injury, but it just gives him more personality. Mooshy is being fostered in the St. Louis area.
