Updated 10/12/22: Ember is a 1-2 yr old BC mix found as a stray, coming to rescue from a shelter. She is a beautiful black and white smooth coat, very puppy like. Currently She is 27 lbs, a little thin, and working on gaining a little bit of weight. Ember is friendly and loves every dog she meets, can be a little shy and timid initially. She has taken correction from her foster sisters, they now run and play chase in the yard and tug with the toys. She would love another dog to show her the ropes and as a playmate. She has been to the dog park, does well, but can get overwhelmed with over zealous dogs. Ember loves all kinds of toys, and will empty the toy box every day. She will also chew things that aren’t hers, such as slippers, water bottles, and other things she finds interesting. She does enjoy appropriate chews like Nylabones! She is housebroken in her foster home, sleeps in the laundry room at night. Ember is VERY food motivated, having mastered “sit, down, and touch, and comes when called”. Ember hasn’t had many positive human interactions, she is unsure what is expected of her, although she is very curious. She is gaining confidence every day as she gets to know the routine in her foster home. She is soft dog, positive reinforcement training is a must with her. She would benefit from and enjoy an obedience class to give her confidence with her new owner. She has a sweet, gentle nature, following her foster mom everywhere. Ember loves every person she has met, adult or child, gentle with the little people she has met. She walks great on a leash with an Easy Walk harness, looks forward to her daily walks! She is an EXCELLENT running partner, and loves to hike. She rides well in the car, and loves adventures! She will need daily exercise to keep her happy, and would love a fenced yard to romp and play. She is also happy to curl up with you, or crawl in your lap to chill and watch a movie. Ember is a sweet, gentle, curious girl looking for a person or family to include in daily life, and explore the world!
