Ellie Mae is a lovable blue merle Aussie youngster who is a bundle of energy weighing about 22 pounds.  She came from southeast Kansas picked up by the pound as a stray and was relinquished to our rescue organization where she is now in foster care.  Ellie Mae is approximately 10 months old, is very affectionate and a typical Velcro pup.  She’s bonded well with everyone she’s met and loves running, herding, and chasing the squirrels with her much larger border collie house mates.  Ellie Mae has all her shots, is heartworm negative, and has been spayed.  She is house broken, crate trained, knows simple commands such as sit, down, off, high five, and come.  She will retrieve a tennis ball when there’s no competition for it and when she does return with it, is very quick to drop and allow it to be thrown again.  She tries to keep up with the big dogs and runs with the wind. 

Ellie Mae is very smart, independent, and confident.  She’s very quick to master puzzle toys and chases the other dogs to the woods but immediately turns and makes a dash for home.  She wants to be the center of attention and likes to be included in playtime with all the dogs.  She’s good with adults and children but sometimes gets a little carried away with her need to herd.

Ellie Mae is being fostered in the Kansas City area.
