Frisco is an approximately 3 year old male Border Collie mix who was found as a stray and not claimed at animal control. Frisco is a fun boy who loves toys-he enjoys playing by himself and also enjoys tug and fetch. He is also very treat motivated. He has the potential to be trained for various dog sports as well as be an active family pet or companion. Frisco is crate trained but we are still using a treat to lure him in. He can also tends to whine and bark some if he can hear or see you moving about the house. His housebreaking is coming along well since his neuter. He is a friendly, happy boy but is not overly needy or demanding. He may bark at a stranger but will stop once he gets familiar with them. He has done ok with other dogs once he gets settled in and adjusted. He prefers dogs that don’t really want to engage with him. He would do best in a home as an only dog, or with dogs who aren’t looking for a playmate. He gets along well three of the four housemates but sometimes gets annoyed with the other young male who sometimes pesters him. Frisco is 27 pounds and a great compact size for traveling but still needs more of getting used to riding in a car. Frisco has a high drive to chase cats and should be placed in a cat-free household. Because of his high prey drive he will need a standard, above ground fence. Frisco also has a tendency to mouth at hands or arms when he gets excited so households with children under 10 years are discouraged. Overall, this a fun little guy with the potential to be a great addition to your family!
