Do you see it in my eyes when you look at me? H-O-P-E. Hope for a new beginning and a home filled with love. Hi, I’m Bella, and I’m a young (3-5 years old), stunningly beautiful border collie who was recently rescued. I’m 35 pounds of pure love and devotion. I spent my first years of life chained in my owner’s back yard. I wasn’t given time to play, and I wasn’t given much attention or love. But I’m making up for lost time now. I am living the good life in a foster home and exploring all of life’s simplest joys. Beds that are soft and cozy, toys that interest and excite me, a back yard where I can run and jump and twirl to my heart’s content, shelter from thunderstorms, and oh that glorious, soft and cushy couch which always comes equipped with a human to snuggle. I had no idea that life could be this sweet. Finding ways to please you is a top priority of mine. My foster family already knows that a little praise and a lotta love are the things that motivate me the most. I am fully house trained, crate trained, and I am being taught so many new and interesting things. You must know how smart border collies are, right? Well, I am learning my basic commands at a very fast rate. I walk nicely on leash, and I know how to come when called. My idea of a perfect day is going for a walk, playing in the yard, chewing on my favorite bone, snuggling in a hammock in the shade, and ending the day with that special couch snuggling time. I’ve even developed a love for the TV show, American Ninja Warrior. Maybe I could try a dog’s version of that? I believe with training you and I could have fun doing agility together. I’m athletic and agile, and very willing to try to do whatever you ask of me. Maybe we could give Canine Freestyle a whirl? We would be dancing together! Honestly, anything that we can do together would make me happy. When I think of my perfect home, I know I’ll need a family that will understand my personality. I can be shy and fearful in new situations. I wasn’t well socialized in that back yard I lived in alone, so I can be afraid of new people, especially men. My family will need to be aware of my lack of confidence and help me by providing slow introductions to new people and new things. Young children are scary to me with their sudden and quick movements, so I’d prefer a home with no young children due to my insecurities and my herding tendencies. I live with three other dogs in my foster home, and we get along quite well. That’s because I was properly introduced, and we were given the time to acclimate to one another. Once I know I can trust my new humans and new environment, I will be able to fully share all my love and devotion with you. I will want an active family that will consistently provide me with exercise, socialization and mental stimulation. This will help my confidence grow by leaps and bounds. I will want to continue my training and would enjoy learning dog sports or agility. My family should be calm, consistent with training and be willing to accept lots of sweet kisses from me every day. Patience and understanding will be key. That’s all I will need to be a happy and well-adjusted member of the family. I should have a fenced yard so I can safely explore and run. My foster mom says that every bit of effort you will put into me will be rewarded with unconditional love, loyalty, and affection. She says that I’ve got the sweetest way of looking at her, and I melt her heart every day. When I look at her, it is with a look of pure, unadulterated love, with total gratitude for rescuing me, and with a fervent hope for my future. Will you please be a part of my new beginning? I’m waiting to share all my love, loyalty and devotion with you. Love, Bella More about BellaGood with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids
