If you are seeking a devoted active border collie, you will want to meet Rio. This little guy is about 36 pounds and very sweet. Rio’s favorite thing to do is whatever you are doing. If you are wanting to ride the tractor, Rio will be there running alongside. If you are looking for a running companion, Rio is ready for that. (Rio is good on and off leash). If you want to garden, Rio would be delighted to join you. Car ride? Absolutely. Watch TV? Rio likes that too. Yoga? Rio says sure. The only thing Rio does not like is to be left alone for long periods, especially outside. Rio has been fine in his foster home when I have been gone for a few hours. He will crate, but also does ok uncrated. He is not destructive and he is housetrained. He is a little bit of a worry wart and he much prefers to be able to see you so he doesn’t have to worry about where you are and if you are ok. Rio has terrific recall. He is excellent on leash free trails and he doesn’t bother other dogs. He shows little interest in the other dogs in his foster home and he is not at all aggressive. Toys are not of value to Rio, but he loves a peanut butter bone at night and he will gnaw on a bone during the day. He ignores cats. He is most concerned about his human and he will be your shadow. Rio does very well in an unfenced yard if you are outside with him, but a fenced yard is preferred to keep him safe. He has no interest in running away from where his owner is. Rio is a sweet and affectionate dog who would be your BEST FRIEND FOREVER. Rio is being fostered in Columbia, MO. More about RioGood with Dogs, Good with Cats
