Clyde is a big loveable teddy bear! This boy was a stray from a local shelter. He is about 3 years old and 50 lbs. Clyde is fairly new to rescue but we can already tell he is a total love bug. He is very gentle and has not offered to jump on people or get on furniture. He takes treats gently. Clyde is crate trained (but sometimes barks if he’s crated and thinks he is missing out on something fun) and housebroken but should still be watched in a new environment to make sure he doesn’t mark. Clyde is starting to play with toys and chew things on his own but doesn’t have an interest in fetching at this time. He gets along great with other dogs and plays with them some if they are interested but otherwise will leave them alone. He watches the cats sometimes but does not hurt them. We think that Clyde is new to living in the house and being a pet. He takes a short time to adjust to new surroundings or new activities (like bathing) but he is quite smart and adapts quickly. Because of this he could benefit from obedience class or a family that will take him out and expose him to new places to build his confidence. Clyde likes children but young children who are screaming and crying are a little overstimulating for him so we feel he would be best with children over the age of 8 who are used to dogs or children who are not overly loud or rowdy. Clyde has a low energy level for a border collie. He will make a great companion or family pet. Clyde is being fostered in the Springfield, Mo area. |
