Shiloh is in almost every way perfect.  She is a gentle and playful gal who thrives with attention.  She enjoys all good natured people of all ages and other dogs.  She is house and crate trained, walks nicely on leash and comes when called. She loves to be given permission to cuddle up with you on the couch.  If you love to snuggle and get close to a dog,  Shiloh has the best temperament and fur to do just that.    She has a tiny stubborn streak in her (I blame the heeler part for that).   Shiloh has not shown a great deal of interest in toys but she does enjoy a hard bone particularly if the bone has some peanut butter inside.  She is not particular about treats, most treats will do although the ones that humans also like are the best.  Shiloh rides well in the car and is always eager to stop at the dog park.  She has good dog social skills.  She will always seek out people to pet her.

Shiloh has an old leg injury that, unfortunately, was left untreated.  She walks favoring the right hind leg.   Shiloh was evaluated at the University of Missouri vet clinic orthopedic department this past week and her right metatarsus is showing much improvement from earlier xrays .  Surgery was not indicated.  The open wound on her lower leg is indicative of her persistent licking of the area close to where the bone injury occurred.  This is being treated with a cone to allow the area to heal and antibiotics.  Shiloh will also need consistent exercise on a daily basis and a diet that keeps her at a lean weight.  Shiloh is just 5 years old and otherwise a healthy border collie mix.  Please consider supporting Shiloh’s quest to be active and without pain by a donation.   If you are interested in learning more about Shiloh or would be interested in potentially adopting her,  please contact MOKAN BC Rescue.   Her adoption is contingent on the healing of her open wound.

Shiloh is being fostered in the Kansas City area.
