Sweet Drako (aka Foofy-Tato) just celebrated his 1st birthday and since his arrival in rescue he’s been an absolute joy to foster! Super friendly to people and dogs alike, but like any puppy he will need further training on social manners like jumping and controlling excitement levels, but he’s proven himself to be quite trainable and loves to please his person. An absolute sweetheart, his favorite place is next to you on the couch or nuzzling at your feet as you work from home, he rarely lets you out of his site and even pokes his head behind a shower curtain on occasion…he just loves saying hi to his person! Drako portrays several typical border collie traits in that he loves learning and being active and will need an active household with room to play fetch and stretch his legs. He’s picked up several behaviors and commands quickly. He sits for leashing and treats, isn’t food or toy aggressive, sleeps soundly in his kennel at night, and loves finding a nest of pillows to nap in. Although he’s fully housetrained sometimes his puppy excitement manifests by way of urination, so Drako’s new family will need to be patient as he adjusts to his new surroundings, but in his foster home this behavior subsided in less than a week. He consistently gives his foster mom the giggles with his silly shenanigans like chasing his own tail, funny sleeping positions, wrestling with his foster brother, and clumsily rolling off the couch. Drako’s sweet disposition and goofy personality would make him suitable for a wide range of households. He’s great with kids and dogs of all sizes but would also do well as a solo-companion to an active family. Kids shouldn’t be too young though, as his clumsy behavior might knock them down on occasion. Drako is fully grown just over 50lbs, is neutered and up to date on his shots. Drako is being fostered in Bentonville, AR..
