Cedar’s life as we know it:

Cedar was seen at a gas station/truck stop in the bed of a truck without a gate. She jumped out and the owner drove off. Fortunately for Cedar, a good Samaritan witnessed the event and was able to make connections and get Cedar into Mokan BC rescue. The owner was never identified nor did they make any attempt to find Cedar. Cedar came to us with a large healed scar above her left eye and her left ear has thickened scar tissue. Our guess is that she was bitten by another dog.

Cedar is about 5 months old and we are unsure what her breed mix is though we do know for sure that she has border collie smarts, aussie eyes, and the quickness and agility of a deer. She is friendly and charming and loves people, children and other dogs. She is cautious when she meets other dogs but only takes a short period of time to warm up.

A typical Cedar first hour of the day:

  • 6 am: After an 8 hour hard sleep ….up and at’m. Help arouse all the other dogs and dash outside to wake up the neighborhood and relocate any deer from the yard. Quickly potty and immediately begin wrestling with foster siblings. Listen closely for any potential bird chirpings and check that out. Race around garden in big circles twice and then do same in opposite direction. Dodge any dog that may provide interference. Race around house and coax others to join in. Finally get wrestled to the ground by at least one dog.
  • 610 am: Eat hearty breakfast
  • 613 am: Back outside to check for any new sticks that may have found way into yard. Go for a walk if lucky.
  • 645 am: Inside play time. Find all toys and test each one. Check out any of the other dog’s toys and see if they want to share. Stare at their toy and whine until they give in.
  • 655 am: Wrestle
  • 658 am: Chew on bone
  • 700 am: Settle in for a nap unless car keys are pulled out and then be ready for a car ride and possible trip to the dog park.

If this is the way you like to spend your early morning hour, then Cedar could just be the dog for you. Cedar is a wonderful bundle of playfulness and energy. She loves children (perhaps a little too jumpy for wee ones) and she loves other dogs. She could be ok with cats if redirected. She is a very quick learner and highly treat motivated. We think she has potential to be an agility dog or just a dog that loves to play games. She is close to being house trained with regular trips outside and she is crate trained.

Cedar will provide you with endless free entertainment. No more TV for you or your kids! Cedar is way more engaging than any show on the tv. And most importantly, Cedar does have an “off switch” after she gets her zoomies out.

This gal will not last long. She has way too much Charisma.

Cedar is being fostered in the Lees Summit, Mo area.
