Maizie is my favorite kind of puppy. She is smart, active, friendly, silly, confident, AND she has an off switch. You will find Maizie either in her crate or on your bed after playtime. She plays hard and she knows how to get in a good snooze before the next activity. Maizie is about 7 months old . She was relinquished as a stray in southern Missouri. She had lost most of her fur due to lack of flea and tick preventative. Well, this did not worry Maizie much. The staff at the shelter loved her personality and used her for their new dog introductions. She is a great reader of dogs--we see that when she is at the dog park. She is a natural when meeting and playing with dogs and humans of all sizes and shapes. At home, Maizie likes chew and squeaky toys and doesn’t mind destuffing one or 2. She will wrestle with the 2 yo aussie in our foster home and avoid the senior dog who isn’t as interested in her antics. Over Thanksgiving, Maizie got to spend some time with a 2 year old and 4 month old human and she was very sweet and gentle. She has a soft mouth and was not reactive to squeals. Maizie is reliable inside and is housetrained with a regular schedule. Being a puppy, she needs to get outside every 3-4 hours. Maizie sleeps all night crated without a peep. She is fed separately from the other dogs just because that is what we do with foster dogs at our home. She is learning basic commands and leash skills. We will be looking for a home with a fence for Maizie as she is curious and will wander off if she is not monitored. Maizie will be a delightful addition to a home with another playful dog although I do think she could be an only dog if she is provided with doggie playdates or dog park exposure. If crated over 4 hours crated during the day she would need an exercise break. This dog is a gift. Dog and people friendly, house trained, crate trained, playful, smart and adorable.
