Bonnie is a very sweet, happy girl. She is shy and timid at first, but once she has had a chance to warm up to you she won’t leave your side. She follows her foster mom everywhere and will whine if she is out of reach. She loves playing with her squeaky toys, chasing her foster sister around the yard, and cuddling on the couch. She doesn’t quite understand the concept of personal space, so whatever you are doing Bonnie wants to be right there with you. For being a stray prior to coming into the rescue, she is very well mannered in the house. She doesn’t chew on or get into anything she isn’t supposed to, doesn’t counter surf, and is good about doing her business outside. She does not know many basic commands yet, but she listens to verbal direction/redirection well, so it shouldn’t take her long to learn. Bonnie does get crated while her foster is at work. However, she does not particularly like the crate, so she will need to continue crate training in her new home. Bonnie has not yet been introduced to children, men, cats, or other dogs (besides her foster sister), but she is a calm and sweet girl once she feels comfortable with you. If you are looking for a sidekick to do everything with, Bonnie is your girl! Bonnie is being fostered in the Ames, IA area.
