Arielle is a brilliant 2 year old 38 pound smooth coated brown and white Border Collie with adorably large upright ears. We don’t know much about her history other than her two stays at a pound October 2021 and again August 2022. We have found her to be a medium energy pup who lounges in the house as long as she gets her exercise time. She’s the fastest dog at the dog park and has a nice running gait on leash. She would enjoy running, obedience, lure coursing, and agility. She has not tried to jump the fence though she could easily clear a 5 foot fence if she wanted to. She has shown excellent recall even with deer on the other side of the fence.
Arielle arrived into foster care reserved and polite with both people and dogs. Two weeks later, she is still reserved with strangers but has turned into a goofball with her foster parent. Arielle is instantly playful with puppies, dogs she knows, or a new dog friend in her house. She shares space, water, food, toys, and treats with other dogs but respects that some dogs need their space. She is fearless at the dog park and very obedient when called over for a time out. This girl is absolutely brilliant and eager to please. Praise alone makes her day. She can be picky about treats and food but perhaps it’s just to get that tablespoon of salmon mixed in with meals.
Arielle is potty trained, crate trained, and walks well on a leash. She is an angel overnight out of her crate. In the daytime, she has puppy energy and will chew on things she finds interesting like books and shelving. She would do well with a dog friend or as an only dog with continued socialization. Arielle is indifferent to cats.
Arielle is being fostered in the Kansas City area.
