Maverick is a 3.5 month old male Border Collie. He was one of four puppies MoKan received from a hoarding seizure. Maverick is a real character. He is charming, silly, intelligent, eager to please little boy who loves learning new things. (Example: the other day it was raining, so we played inside. Maverick learned to go through a tunnel.) He is working on a couple of other tricks also. Maverick is coming along wonderfully on obedience. He knows his name, comes when you whistle or call his name, sits on command or hand signal, lies down on command or hand signal, loves to walk on a leash and is working on WAIT and LEAVE IT commands. Maverick is a social guy, he loves meeting people, dogs and a cat or two. He enjoys car rides. Maverick will stay in a crate during the day when are gone and sleep in one at night, with no accidents. He will bark if he needs to go out during the night. Otherwise, Maverick prefers to be where you are. He enjoys playing with toys and will entertain himself. Maverick loves to play ball and bring it back to you. He loves playing tug of war and tag with his foster sisters. Maverick can help you clean under beds and furniture because he loves crawling under beds, hairs and desks. Maverick will help you clean the shower, because he loves to lick the floor after you shower. Maverick can rock you in a porch swing because he loves jumping on and off the swing. When he is not busying himself, you can find him laying at your feet. Maverick is housebroken (he barks to go out), but will need a refresher course and patience, because of his age. Maverick would be happy with a companion dog his size due to his Border Collie tendencies. He will need a fenced yard because Maverick is an active puppy who enjoys being outside. He would do best with adults and older children. Maverick is fully vetted, microchipped, heart worm negative and on monthly prevention. Maverick is being fostered in the St. Louis, Mo area.
