Annabelle is a 42 pound, 18 month old Border Collie mix who was an unclaimed stray/lost dog. She loves meeting new people and makes dog friends easily.

Annabelle has been in MO-Kan’s foster care since August 9th. She has great eye contact with her human, adapts quickly to new situations and is very eager to please. She now knows her name, sits for treats and comes when called, even if she’s in the middle of eating a tasty treat “someone” stole out of the trash. She was instant friends with her 3 housemates. She respects the gentle authority of the Alpha dog, does not annoy the elderly one, and plays rough and tumble with the willing 2 year old peer.

Annabelle thrives on routine. She is crated with a mid-day break while her foster is at work. After 2 weeks, she has figured out that if she lays quietly on her foster parent’s bed, she is allowed to stay there overnight. She had a few pee “accidents” in the first week and is learning that she will be let out to do her business.

Annabelle would do best with a fenced yard (over 4 foot) and a dog friend of any kind. We have not observed her around children or cats. With some more basic manners training and a routine, she will become a model “family dog”.
