Success Stories

We are very pleased to share the story of our dog’s forever home and to know that we helped guide these dogs into a bright future. Each and every creature deserves to be appreciated and loved. That is what rescue work is all about.

We LOVE photos of how our Mo-Kan Alumni are doing!  Please send us photos and a short update on how you are all doing!

River (2021)

River (Adopted 12/2021)

River and her new family! She now has a new BFF, Chief.

Stoney

Stoney (Adopted 12/2021)

Stoney was adopted by Cindy and Charles. He is going to be a very spoiled, Oklahoma farm dog! (He’s the cute one laying in the back.)

Cedar (2021)

Cedar (adopted 11/2021)

Sweet Cedar's foster mom knew he was a very special boy when they began their rescue adventure together at a complete standstill in highway traffic. Cedar never seemed to have any doubt that he was safe and everything would be okay with this complete stranger.

Cedar quickly blossomed into a well behaved boy who loved to play at full speed and then put on the brakes to snuggle with his foster mom or brother. He learned so much from his furry foster siblings and forgot all about his lonely days of being a stray. How would he ever be able to leave his foster home?

Well...the very moment Cedar met his foster dad, it was perfectly clear that everything was going to be just fine. There was so much tail wagging and wiggling around that Cedar could hardly stand up! He immediately followed when his dad took the leash and they walked through the grass...as if Cedar knew without any doubt that this was his person.

Then once Cedar got home and met his new big brother and sister, Sig & Beulah, his forever family was complete.

Stay sweet and be happy, Cedar. You're such a special boy.

Waylon

Waylon (adopted 10/2021)

Travis and Tal are thrilled to welcome sweet Waylon into his forever home. They have all hit the jackpot! Waylon will have a new brother Duke to play, a huge farm to run and explore, and a stay at home mom that will be sure he gets plenty of attention. His new dad Travis thinks he is pretty special too!

Here is Waylon and his family on their most recent hiking adventure at the “Little Grand Canyon”

Mary Jane

Mary Jane (now Josie - Adopted 11/2021)

From Mary Jane's new family:

Mary Jane, who we’ve now named Josie, is fitting in SO well. She’s very respectful of our cat, Henry. She’s interested in what he’s doing but he’s not so sure of her yet. She just politely walks away from him if he hisses or growls, but Henry already gotten a lot more comfortable with her. He knows that she is not going to hurt him. Josie is so gentle with Henry and I think they’ll be besties soon.

We’ve been going on walks on the trail behind our house and she seems to love that. She walks well on a leash, but we’re working on “heel.”  She’s getting the hang of it really quickly! After the walks, she passes out on the couch and just wants to snuggle. We’re working on her crate training and trying to make her crate a positive place for her. She barks a little at first when she goes in the crate but soon settles down. Tomorrow we plan on introducing her to our friend’s golden retrievers! They live just up the street with a giant yard to play in.

We love her so much and are so glad we found her. Thank you for doing what you do and helping us find the most perfect little pup for us!

I will update with pictures as she starts to settle in more and meet some of her new dog friends.

Best, Lainey
