Introducing Missy, an 8-month-old tricolor Border Collie, standing at a petite 17lbs. Despite a challenging start to life, she's quickly discovering the kindness of people and exudes a personality described as spunky, affectionate, curious, and a little shy.

Missy faces an orthopedic disability called quadricep contracture, coupled with hip dislocation, causing her back legs not to bend. Remarkably, she's adapted by bunny hopping, displaying boundless joy in every hop. Despite this challenge, she engages in regular doggie activities, from running in the yard to playing in the snow, showcasing her resilience and enthusiasm.

Her past remains a mystery as she was abandoned at a crowded shelter in Oklahoma, landing on the euthanasia list. However, she’s now safe in a loving foster home, allowing her adorable personality to shine through. Life with Missy is an adventure, filled with toy-hunting escapades and the occasional "borrowing" of shoes, gloves, and remotes.

While Missy is still learning commands, she responds well to "come" and "no," displaying her eagerness to please. She's kennel-trained, sleeps quietly through the night, and is making great progress with potty training. Missy adores her foster sister and seems interested in making friends with the cat,  making her a delightful companion for those willing to accommodate her unique needs.

With the charm and quirks of a full-sized Border Collie in a pint-sized package, Missy offers the joy of slightly shorter walks and the assurance of no jumping. If you're seeking an affectionate friend and are open to embracing her special needs, Missy might just be your perfect match. Missy is spayed, heartworm negative, and hi to date in all her immunizations. She is being fostered near Wichita, KS.

Missy is being fostered in the North Newton, KS area.
