Zip (Zippy, Zippity-do-dah, ZIP!!!) is a delightful pup. She was born without a right front leg. Because she had a desire to chase chickens and other small creatures, she lived on a chain in her previous home.

Zip came into rescue and has never looked back! She can keep up with her foster siblings and pass them as they race around the yard. This girl has energy and will need a family ready to keep up with her!!

Zip is crate trained, but it is not her favorite place, she wants to be in the middle of the axon. she will crate easily with a stuffed Kong, bone or bully stick. She rarely chews on anything that isn’t hers, and easily redirected with an appropriate toy. She is house trained.

This girl is VERY smart, food motivated, and willing to learn everything you want to teach her. She is working on basic obedience, loves her training and treats! Foster mom recommends continuing her training with more obedience classes. She would do well with any fun activity to keep her mentally and physically stimulated. She has mastered low agility jumps quickly!

Zip walks nicely on a leash and would love to hike!

An average day is racing in the yard with her foster siblings, chasing blowing leaves or a ball, and managing squirrels in the yard, and training sessions. She will then crash with her human, preferably in your lap.

Zip loves other dogs or would be fine as a solo dog. She would do best with dog savvy kids over 10, because of her high energy, no small children.

If you are ready for an active, intelligent girl, Zip may be for you. With exercise and mental stimulation, she will be your best snuggle buddy.

(She has a perfectly round spot on her side, that we are hoping will be her off switch)

Zip is being fostered in the Holden, MO area.
