Animal Success Stories

Success Stories

We are very pleased to share the story of our dog’s forever home and to know that we helped guide these dogs into a bright future. Each and every creature deserves to be appreciated and loved. That is what rescue work is all about.

We LOVE photos of how our Mo-Kan Alumni are doing!  Please send us photos and a short update on how you are all doing!
Please include when adopted and if they were listed under a former name.

Samantha

Samantha - Adopted 11/2020

Foster Fail! We decided to keep the “junk yard” dog. She was part of the hoarding situation from south Missouri, and we think Hope (who is currently up for adoption) is her mother. Thanks again MoKan for allowing us to foster and give her a permanent home.

Annie (2019)

Riley (originally Annie) Adopted 11/2019

Riley celebrated her first gotcha day! She’s such a cuddle bug with a spunky little personality. Her little tail wags and woo-woos are just the best!! She is the perfect addition to my little family.

Cooper (2013)

Cooper - Adopted 01/2013

Cooper was a foster fail.  I was not the original foster mom, but when they were going out of town for the holidays we were asked to pet sit Mr. Cooper.  We fell in love with him after only spending a few hours with him, and that was it, he was part of our family!

He loves to greet everyone with a toy and a happy growly sound, and once people realize we just wants to play, he has made another best friend. Cooper loves to go on walks and greet all (human or four-legged) along the way.  His greatest joy is playing freebie or fetching a tennis ball in the backyard.

Cooper is the best snuggle buddy too!!!

We couldn't have asked for a better well rounded addition to our family.  Can't imagine the past 7 years without him.

Henry

Henry - Adopted 10/2020

Henry's family says he is fitting in well with our other dog Finn (rescued through a different org) and while they are still working on training he is a solid part of their family.

They said they are so grateful he is with them!

Otter

Otter - Adopted 10/2020

Otter is a special needs dog that needed a very special family. Lori and Michael just lost their senior blind, deaf Aussie this summer. They really wanted to adopt a special needs dog to give them a wonderful home. They were captured by Otter’s bio. They fell in love on the website and hearing about him. They are the absolute perfect family, committed to giving him opportunities to let Otter reach his potential, but most of all love him unconditionally. PERFECT MATCH!
